Bio
James Jaiyoung Choi is an award-winning filmmaker and a film scholar. He has a M.A. in cinema studies from New York University, and a B.F.A. and a M.F.A in film/video and film directing from CalArts (California Institute of the Arts).
He has made films in diverse ranges, from experimental to documentary and narrative films.
His main interests are in independent Asian American films, Asian films, French New Wave, the Frankfurt School, Globalism, and the hybrid genre between documentary and improvisational, narrative filmmaking.
Currently he is producing visual contents for digital media marketing in the beauty industry.
